Frequently Asked Questions

Why Should I choose Lana at LA Interactive?

With over 20 years of experience and ongoing education, Lana has become a leader in the fitness industry. However, not all personal trainers are created equal. Many trainers take a weekend course and call themselves a personal trainer. Lana teaches many weekend workshops herself for the AFLCA (Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association) for beginners wanting to become fitness leaders. The people that take these courses are not personal trainers, but resistance training leaders. With this, they are allowed to design programs not personal train. However, many facilities are hiring people with a weekend course and calling them a personal trainer.

When looking for a trainer, the following things should be considered:

  • Education (degrees, diplomas, certifications)
  • Continuing Education (conferences, workshops, DVDs, reading)
  • Experience
  • Personality (what is his/her energy level? Does he/she seem interested? Does the trainer listen to your needs or pay attention to what you are saying/doing?)
  • Cost (cheaper doesn’t mean better, you pay for what you get)

What are the rewards and benefits of mobile training programs?

  • Exercise in the privacy of your own home
  • Exercise in the location of your choice
  • Specialized exercise and fitness programs
  • Increased motivation
  • Accountability
  • Accelerated results
  • Emphasis on proper technique
  • Decreased risk of injury
  • Progressive training
  • Fun, goal oriented, challenging workouts!
  • Maximize your time – no traveling to and from the gym!

Do I need to have my own equipment?

No. Lana brings equipment with her (stability balls, Pilates equipment, medicine balls, Kettle bell, sandbell, tubing, rebounder and the list goes on).

Why is in-home training more expensive than training at a gym?

Most gyms range from $55 being the lowest up to $95 being the highest (depending on if it’s a public or private facility) and the more sessions you buy, the cheaper training is. Lana has one fee and goes month to month so there is no obligation to continue after each month. She is not about selling big packages, she is about your commitment to health and fitness.

Your time with traveling to and from a gym or a studio for your personal training session would average about 2 hours. Therefore, you would save an hour with the convenience of Lana traveling to you and use that time for something else (family, work, or shopping).

What areas in Calgary do you travel to?

Lana will travel all over Calgary within 30 minutes each direction from downtown Calgary. If it takes longer than 30 minutes, there is an additional fee.

What is the cancellation policy?

A 24 hour notice of cancellation is required should you wish to cancel a training session. Canceling with less than 24 hours notice will result in a charge for the appointed workout. It is recommended that you reschedule an appointment to keep your fitness level and Lana will do her best to accommodate your schedule.

How do I schedule my personal training sessions?

Contact Lana and let her know the times that work best for you and she will see if that works with her schedule as well.

What if I go away on vacation, will my time slot still be available when I get back?

Yes, If you become a regular client, Lana will lock you into a time slot and keep that for you.
